Searching for Utopia
It's been interesting watching the new show, Utopia, and seeing how the chosen are dealing with one another and the challenges ahead of them. People are cruel, opinionated, self-serving, all the things that make sensational "reality" tv, but there are moments of clarity and reconciliation. I wonder what we don't see.
There seems to be a theme in my life lately centering around finding or creating my personal utopia. Creating a living space that is a functional, beautiful, and serene environment. I have had a vision of my dream home for years and years. Dan and I have been discussing our ideal living arrangement.
The tumbleweed house/tiny-house movement has been getting a lot of attention in the media lately.
This trend seems to make a lot of sense. Lower your impact on the earth, while living a life closer more in-tune with your ideals and needs. But I see it in a more communal setting. A couple of tumbleweed houses surrounding a communal kitchen and fire pit. Having a lot on the water would be ideal. Call it a pipe dream, but I think micro-communities like these are possible. What is your utopia?
